Welcome back to beautiful North Padre Island. Today, we’re standing on the first completed internal bridge that connects Whitecap Island, where the showcase homes are going, to Harrier Point. Behind me is the second internal bridge that connects Harrier Point to Sand Hill Island.
Let’s take a closer look with our project manager, Sean Shulman.
A: Sean, thanks so much for being here today. What can you tell us about this second bridge?
S: Well, the second bridge here at Whitecap, we are approximately about 70% complete. We have all the walls installed, the arches are installed, and we will be starting next week the backfilling process, which will ultimately finish up with paving probably in about four weeks.
A: Great, that’s a wonderful timeline for our residents. What can you tell us about the benefits for the residents once this bridge is complete?
S: Well the benefits is it’s going to give you access via boat to the back portion of our canals that are currently not accessible. It does have a dirt plug in it currently. We will be pulling that around Christmas time so our residents will have quite a bit of water access through Whitecap.
A: Wonderful. In addition to access by boat, these bridges will also include a pedestrian path so our residents can get to and from their neighbors and into our amenities. Thanks so much for your time, Sean. We appreciate it.
We’re looking forward to keeping you updated on all of the construction that’s going on here at Whitecap.
