Whitecap North Padre Island is preparing for its official groundbreaking ceremony today, May 1st, 2023.
The development is planned to be constructed in at least four phases, with the first already underway. The community is planned to integrate homes with nature and connect them to the Gulf Coast, with five miles of canals throughout the development featuring a 26-acre nature preserve, a town center, a hotel, a yacht club, and other amenities. Whitecap aims to create a destination resort community with a “special feel” that encourages relaxation and outdoor activities. Homes will feature coastal-contemporary architecture and be designed to provide additional space for community amenities to attract more visitors.
Corpus Christi Mayor Paulette Guajardo, Nueces County Judge Connie Scott will attend the groundbreaking ceremony, and project stakeholders are expected to attend.
